About: Mr Peter Adenibuyan
Peter Adenibuyan is a highly skilled and experienced Chief Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years of expertise in the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs). He is a National Trainer and Training Provider for the Colombo Plan under the Sound Mind Initiative. He is currently collaborating with the Lagos State University College of Medicine’s Department of Behavioral Medicine to teach the Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC), Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC), and the Universal Recovery Curriculum (URC).
Peter works at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital in Yaba, Lagos, and is an internationally certified Addiction Professional specializing in Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Allies. He has successfully trained over 200 participants in the Universal Treatment Curriculum at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital and over 50 participants under LASUCOM/SMI, showcasing his dedication to improving addiction treatment and support.
Peter is an accomplished presenter who has shared his expertise at numerous national and international conferences. His speaking engagements include the ISSUP Global Conference in Nairobi, Kenya (2018), the Lisbon Addiction Conference (2019), the ICUDDR Conference in Cusco, Peru (2019), and the ISSUP Global Conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE (2022), among others. He has also contributed significantly to local conferences, including the CRISA Conference in Abuja, sponsored by UNODC.
An active member of the International Consortium of Universities for Drug Demand Reduction (ICUDDR) West Africa and the Nigeria Chapter of ICUDDR, Peter also serves as an Executive member of the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP) Nigeria Chapter. He has contributed to numerous national and international committees and volunteered for the ICUDDR Virtual Conference in 2021.
Peter is passionate about supporting individuals on their recovery and mental well-being journey. At Dora-Care Behavioral Foundation, he brings his extensive experience in addiction treatment, social work, and therapeutic support, working to help individuals achieve lasting recovery and emotional health.
