Dr. Ayodele Olubunmi Ajayi is an experienced and highly skilled Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of dedicated practice in clinical and private settings. He holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Lagos State University, a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Lagos, and a first degree in Physiology from the University of Ibadan. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Director in the Clinical Psychology department at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba, Lagos.

 

Dr. Ajayi specializes in the assessment and treatment of individuals facing various forms of psychological distress, employing a range of evidence-based psychological interventions to help patients achieve emotional stability and overcome mental health challenges. His approach integrates diverse therapeutic techniques, ensuring a personalized and effective treatment plan for each individual.

 

Dr. Ajayi’s professional journey has been marked by significant contributions to national mental health initiatives, including his involvement in the psychosocial support efforts for family members affected by the Dana Air crash, the Ebola epidemic, and the COVID-19 pandemic. He is also an internationally certified addiction professional (ICAP 1 & 2) and a UNODC Global Trainer. His commitment to professional development is further demonstrated by his certification in delivering training through the Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance Level 3 International Award from the London Professional Training Centre.

 

Beyond his clinical expertise, Dr. Ajayi is a respected trainer and presenter, frequently conducting workshops for various professional bodies and groups. Notably, he has led training for addiction counselors at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital (Lagos and Calabar branches) and workshops on Combat and Operational Stress Control for the Nigerian Air Force. Additionally, he has facilitated mental health lectures on work-life balance for the Nigerian Association of Clinical Psychologists during their Ruby Jubilee celebrations in 2019.

 

As a passionate advocate for mental health, Dr. Ajayi is also actively involved in leadership roles, currently serving as the Secretary of the Nigerian Association of Clinical Psychologists, Lagos State chapter.
